7 Feb: Safer Internet Day in Ukraine

Noua hate speech campaign in Ukraine joined to celebration of the Safer Internet Day in Ukraine. The Safer Internet Day in 2017 had a great influence and was a remarkable example of activism and cooperation and gave the opportunity to speak up for human rights online. Numbers of educational and promotional events on combating hate speech online took place in almost all the cities of Ukraine. At the national level it worth stress on several important events.

16425887_1363525887052739_5291137631796081939_n06.02.2017 Round table “Child on-line: how to provide security and privacy?” was organized by the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Informatization and Communication with NGO “Partners of digital human rights protection” and Ukrainian National Committee of Safer Interment Day. During the event the stakeholders shared their proposals how to improve Ukrainian legal system in order to protect human and children rights on-line. An analytical research “Child on-line: how to provide security and privacy?” was presented and tackled the issue of hate speech protection on-line and off-line.

08.02.2017 National webinars for school children “How to make Internet safer” was organized by the Institute of Modernization of Educational Content of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Ukrainian National Committee of Safer Interment Day with support of Microsoft of Ukraine. Information about protection of human rights on-line and instruments of No Hate Speech Campaign were shared.
