The objective of the course was to spark a structured discussion among LGBTQ+ people about different forms of discrimination, focusing especially on instances of hate speech and the narratives used to support it during the Slovenian 2015 referendum on marriage equality in Slovenia. Due to time constraints, the aim was not for the participants to create fully shaped counter-narratives and strategies on how to implement them, but rather to analyse and deconstruct some of the messages used during the referendum.
The participants chose the 3 YouTube videos (transcriptions were provided to make the analysis easier). They were then facilitated through the Assess phase of the framework proposed in the We Can! Taking Action against Hate Speech through Counter and Alternative Narratives book.

The objectives were also achieved through discussions, which occurred when groups reported and commented their findings.
