The Broken Lens was a project funded by Agenzija Zghazagh - Malta that aimed at interviewing youth and people in the media to explore and discuss the factors and implications of LGBTIQ media representation. Those interviewed explored and even challenged some of the archetypes of LGBTIQ representation in the media. The Broken Lens provides a powerful narrative (and counternarrative) to those who seek to understand themselves and LGBTIQ people.

Target groups involved: LGBTIQ YOUTH AND THE POPULATION IN GENERAL

National Campaigns:

  • Hate speech based on gender identity and sexual orientation

Other campaigner’s use/multiply/adopt or learn from your practices: It can be used as a narrative (and counter narrative) for those seeking to understand what it means to be LGBTIQ and seeing reflections of others 'like you' in the media.

Place: Launch took place at Agenzija Zghazagh, Youth Village, St. Venera, Malta.
